The main aim of the Isle of Man Home Guard Re-enactment Society (IOMHGRS) is to recreate the LDV/ IOMHG, from formation in May 1940 to early 1941. This period was one of the most important times in their history, as it was when Britain stood alone against the very real threat of Nazi invasion, and the early development of the HG uniform and equipment that was issued to them. The IOMHG is open to anyone who has a genuine interest in WW2 military and local history, and is aged between 17-70.
